01Biko was transported naked, shackled, and comatose in the back of a Land Rover for 900 kilometres from Port Elizabeth to Pretoria.
02The district surgeon who examined Biko before the drive certified him fit for transport; that surgeon, Ivor Lang, was never criminally charged.
03Biko died at 30 years old, 26 days after his arrest; his death triggered an international arms embargo against South Africa.

The Diamond Sutra, printed in 868 AD with a carved woodblock, is the world's oldest dated printed book — 587 years before Gutenberg. It opens with a line about the void and closes with instructions to destroy itself.
